OUR STORY

The Union Bank Wine Bar and Wine Store occupies a group of heritage-listed buildings clustered around a shady courtyard in the heart of town.

For the past two years we have called ourselves Belgravia at Union Bank and have operated as a wine bar and cellar door for Belgravia wines. In fact, we initially opened the Union Bank to be sales and cellar door outlet for Belgravia. To read more about Belgravia's vineyard and wines, please click here.

On August 1 2008, Belgravia at Union Bank evolved into the Union Bank Wine Bar and Wine Store. Our wine bar offers excellent bistro-style food at reasonable prices. Peter Bourne is in charge of the interesting, ever-changing and balenced wine list and also runs tastings and wine appreciation courses every month.

The Wine Store, housed in the former stables (built 1870-1883), is a boutique for local, national and international wines selected by Nick Butler and Peter Bourne.

Nick is in charge of the Union Bank Wine Store. He has worked in the wine industry for over 15 years and has distributed and marketed some of Australia's, New Zealand's and Europe's best wines. He is working hard to make the Union Bank Australia's finest regional wine destination.

Richard established the Union Bank Wine Bar in 2006 a and is involved in all aspects of the business.

Will is involved in strategic planning and management for both the Wine Bar and Wine Store, he works closely with our winemakers on what to bottle and when and with his background in accounting, keeps a handle on our budgets and finances.

Andrew is our new sous chef and has recently joined us from Sisters Rock restaurant at Borrodell on the Mount. He is a welcomed addition to our team and has already made an impression with our regulars with his inventive flair.

Libby is our Wine Bar Manager, she is a hospitality pro and since joining the Union Bank almost four years ago, has helped establish the wine bar as one of NSW's best.

Pete originally joined our kitchen in 2008 as Sous Chef, and is now the creative force behind the Union Bank's menu - having assumed the role of Head Chef. Pete is still on a mission to get pizza onto our menu and can often be seen in many of the pubs around Orange leading his band on the drums.
