Taltarni Brut Tache
Taché is a French word meaning ‘stained’ and refers to the rare winemaking method used since 1985 at Taltarni to create this fine rosé-coloured sparkling wine. Its delicate salmon pink colour is achieved by adding a dash of red wine liqueur to the finished tirage wine at disgorgement. Crafted from a traditional blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, Taltarni Brut Taché is bottle fermented and matured for a minimum of 18 months according to traditional ‘Mêthode Champenoise’ practice.
The composition of Brut Taché includes for the first time fruit sourced from the Macedon Ranges, a cool climate region of Victoria well known for producing high quality base wine for sparkling, in particular pinot noir and chardonnay, with the same consistency as seen in Tasmania. The cool climate aromas imparted by both the Macedon Ranges and Tasmanian fruit balance superbly with the warmth and ripeness of the fruit grown on Taltarni’s Pyrenees estate, contributing to exquisite length and flavour.
With its dazzling colour, abundant fruit and mouth filling flavour, Taltarni Brut Taché epitomises the refinement and personality which have been known as Taltarni’s house style. |
